Announcing our next Winter Environmental Conference speaker: Dr. Glenn Johnson

Dr. Johnson will present on the genesis and development of a recovery strategy for the state-threatened Blanding’s turtle.

Dr. Glenn Johnson is Professor and Chair of the Biology Department at SUNY Potsdam where he teaches ecology, conservation biology and vertebrate zoology. He received his advanced degrees from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, where he worked on conservation issues with rare vertebrates including red-shouldered hawks and massasauga rattlesnakes. Currently, his research focuses on threatened species in the Adirondacks and northern New York, including spruce grouse and Blanding’s turtles. He is co-author of a book entitled “Amphibians and Reptiles of New York State: Identification, Natural History and Conservation”. He is a principal participant in collaborative region-wide conservation efforts for Blanding’s turtles and wood turtles across the Northeast.

Tickets to the 36th Annual Winter Environmental Conference can be purchased here. Thank you to our 2025 WEC Sponsors for making this event possible once again!
