We’re excited to welcome Dana Witte as a Save the River summer intern. She is a junior double majoring in Environmental Biology & Anthropology at Colgate University and has spent many summers along the river. As a varsity swimmer, she’s interested in learning more about water quality and how to protect this important resource for her community.
What are you excited about working for Save the River this summer?
“I grew up coming to the river from ice fishing to swimming in the summer, which has created a deep relationship with the area. I am excited about working for Save the River because I will be able to directly give back to an area I care so much about. I also have a great passion for environmental work and engaging with people, so I look forward to merging both of those interests with this organization!”
What do you want to do after graduating college?
“When I get older my dream would be to work for the US National Parks System or any type of job where I can work with people and engage communities about the environment and more towards a more sustainable future.”
One fun fact about you that no one knows:
“I can play the banjo (sort of).”
Come visit Dana and our other intern, Collin, this summer at the Save the River storefront on Riverside Drive in Clayton.
