On The Water

You are here: Home / On The Water

On The Water is our field trip component, designed for grades K-12, that brings the classroom to the River.

On the boat ride, students learn about aquatic habitats, wildlife, invasive species, and much more! Students also receive the opportunity to explore local landmarks, participate in hikes, and other activities.

Pick a Program:

Rock Island Lighthouse

Take a boat ride to Rock Island Lighthouse to learn about local landmarks and wildlife, explore the lighthouse and participate river related games and activities!

Wellesley Island State Park

Take a boat ride to Wellesley Island State Park to learn about river ecology, participate in an interactive story time, take a short hike or an imaginary hike!

Is On The Water right for you?

Save the River’s On the Water program works with Clayton Island Tours to provide a memorable and educational experience on the river. An In the Classroom experience is a prerequisite. Once this prerequisite is met, our On the Water program is available to you! We are happy to work with you to make sure all students have a safe and enjoyable time on the water.

Teacher Resources

We hope you will check out our Education Resource Links, which will provide you with additional resources to help shape the curriculum to meet your classroom needs.

Plus, view all of our spring On The Water programs in our educator’s guide.
