Morristown River Site Overview – Septic Case Study

You are here: Home / What is Septic? / Morristown River Site Overview – Septic Case Study

Siting a septic system at this river property was challenging because of the steep slope and shallow depth to rock. The septic system was designed using a Clarus Fusion enhanced treatment unit to provide pre-treatment of the residential wastewater. All of the wastewater from the house sewer drained by gravity into the Clarus Fusion. Inside the Fusion is a series of baffles and compartments that create an environment where naturally occurring microorganisms can live. These microorganisms digest the organics in the wastewater inside the tank. The Fusion effluent is clear and odorless. This pre-treated water is subjected to ultraviolet light for disinfection. Gravity flow directs the pre-treated and disinfected effluent into the ground though several leach lines. The dispersal piping was installed in an area that had been built up above rock and created using several retaining walls.
